What Causes Scar Tissue After Rhinoplasty?
After surgery, the body naturally forms scar tissue as part of the healing process. In some patients, this tissue can become excessive or firm, leading to:

How We Treat Rhinoplasty Scar Tissue
Our Treatment Process
Your treatment begins with numbing the area with topical anaesthetic cream for about 20 minutes ensuring minimal discomfort. Then careful cleansing of the area with antiseptic. Our specialist doctors then inject a precise amount of Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) directly into the scar tissue.
This helps to:
- Break down excess scar tissue
- Reduce inflammation
- Flatten and soften the treated area
For more resistant or recurring scar tissue, we combine steroid injections with 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU 50mg/ml).
This combination:
- Enhances scar reduction
- Prevents regrowth of scar tissue

- Treatment is performed in clinic and takes only a few minutes
- Most patients require 1 to 3 sessions
